The Western Fulton County Seniors met on Monday, Sept. 13. There were 18 members present.
The meeting was then opened by President Angel Hill with the salute to the flag, and the Lord’s Prayer recited. In the absence of Secretary, Karla Hoyt, the Secretary’s report was read by Barbara Kravec. The motion to accept the report as read was made by Marty Nemecek and Pete Stearns seconded it. The motion was passed. The Treasurer’s report was read by Linda Christman. Pat Buchanan made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report as read, and Rose Nemecek seconded the motion.
Noted was a Christmas trip to the Log Cabin on Dec. 7, with a cost of $59, due before Nov. 19. Pickup for this trip will be at the Ephratah Firehouse on Route 10 at 7 a.m. Collections of non-perishable items for the Food Drive fundraiser can be brought to the Center at the October and November meetings. Linda Christman was thanked for making the tickets to be sold for this food drive, and Rose Nemecek will account for the funds and the tickets. Members also noted a Pet Food drive for the Ayres Animal Shelter, with donated food and toys, etc., to be collected at the Nov. 8 meeting.
A thank you letter was sent to the Ephratah Rod and Gun Club for their donation.
Get well wishes were sent to member Betty Przestrzelski.
Members were reminded of our Bake Sale fundraiser to be held at the Town Hall on Election Day, Nov. 2. A further reminder on this fundraiser will be given at the October meeting.
Members were reminded of the regular Bingo games to be held at the Center on Sept. 27, with pot-luck following.
Pete Stearns was nominated for the Board of Directors.
Tom Hogan stated the winners of the three raffles were Angel Hill, Pete Stearns and Pat Buchanan. Angel Hill also won the 50-50 raffle and she donated the funds back to the Club.
Dick Nolly made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Stan Smith seconded the motion and the meeting was adjourned at 2 p.m.
