High schools: Broadalbin-Perth girls’ soccer beats Glens Falls

BROADALBIN-PERTH Olivia Rogers scored two goals, and Jillian Sassanella had a goal and an assist in Broadalbin-Perth’s 5-0 Foothills Council girls’ soccer win over Glens Falls Thursday.

Mianna Barboza and Molly Russom had the other goals for the Spartans and Mairead Marsden made two saves for the shutout.

Bayley Duffy scored three minutes into overtime after Aislynn Dixon tied the contest as time expired in regulation, lifting Queensbury to a 2-1 comeback win over Scotia-Glenville. Kortney Clark made 12 saves for the Tartans.

Anna Armstrong connected for three goals, Keira Rogan had two goals and an assist, and Gabby Everleth had a goal and an assist for Schuylerville in an 8-0 win over Johnstown. Macey Koval and Riley Keefer had the other Schuylerville goals.

Schuylerville beat South Glens Falls Wednesday 4-0 behind Amanda Pflieger’s two goals 4-0 and single tallies by Alayna Wian and Koval.

Stephanie Martin and Kaelin Pitman had the goals for Galway in a 2-2 non-league tie with Hoosick Falls. Grace Houghton scored both goals for the Panthers.

Greenwich edged Mayfield in another non-league test 4-3. Jaidyn Chest paced Mayfield with two goals and an assist, and Abigail Chest netted a goal. 

GALWAY TOPS FONDA

Amber Kolpakas had 13 kills, 10 digs and 18 service points for Galway in a 25-8, 25-13, 25-15 Western Athletic Conference girls’ volleyball win over Fonda-Fultonville. Sophia Fasolino had nine kills, 11 digs and 25 assists for Galway, Grace O’Brien had eight kills, six aces and 18 assists and Jayden DeVellis had 27 digs.

Gabriella Luna and Amelia Armao combined for 15 aces in Mekeel Christian Academy’s 25-15, 25-16, 25-15 WAC win over Canajoharie/Fort Plain. Luna had eight aces and 13 assists, Armao had seven aces and five kills, and Alanah Barnhill also had five kills for the Lions.

Schoharie got five aces and 10 service points from Alexis Dennis, and five kills from Alyssa Cieszinski, in a 25-15, 25-17, 25-20 win over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons. Julia Jaworowski had four kills and 10 digs for the Golden Knights, Julia Dobkowski had 11 digs, and Alanah Kelly served for seven points.

Emma Gardiner, Faith Coates and Mackenzie Lawrence had five kills apiece, and Ruby Poole had five aces for Berne-Knox-Westerlo in a 26-24, 25-19, 25-8 win over Middleburgh. Payton Yung had five kills and six digs, and Megan Beamer had eight assists for the Knights.

Haley Tomlinson was a factor up front with nine kills and at the back line with 13 aces, and Broadalbin-Perth beat Scotia-Glenville 25-15, 25-8, 25-8 in the Foothills Council. Sami Westfall had six kills for the Patriots, and Camille Calderone had four kills and five aces.

Hannah Maxson had five aces and four kills, Abbi Lewis worked for 19 digs, and Camille Gray added seven digs in Johnstown’s 25-20, 25-22, 25-14 win over Amsterdam. Annie Fedullo had six kills for the Rams, JoMarie Rivera had 10 digs, and Dania Ayala had eight service points.

Madison Sheehan and Kaliyah Davis had seven and six kills, respectively, and Kelly Liu assisted on 11 points to help Queensbury beat Glens Falls 25-15, 25-22, 25-12. Lily Slattery had four kills and six assists for Queensbury. Hilary Burns had 13 digs for Hudson Falls.

LADY BILLS WIN

Nicole Simon, Ayaka Sasaki, Cole Krempa and Emily Pertell had the goals for Johnstown in a 4-2 Foothills Council field hockey win over Schuylerville. Daisy Mehan and Brooke Schwerd scored for Schuylerville.

Autumn Kramer, Maddy Horan and Kat Smith scored the goals, and Maya Westbrook made 10 saves to lift Scotia-Glenville past Glens Falls 3-0. Kramer, Horan and Maddie Darling picked up assists. Maggie Goodwin made 12 saves for the Indians.
