Man charged with resisting arrest

GLOVERSVILLE – City police said officers arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly pushed a woman during an argument and later resisted arrest.

Richard A. Hoyt Jr., 31, of 51 S. Judson St., was charged Saturday with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and second-degree harassment.

Police said while officers were conducting an investigation, the victim alleged Hoyt pushed her during an argument.

Police said while officers spoke with the victim, Hoyt returned home and officers saw him act disorderly by yelling and screaming.

Police said officers attempted to place Hoyt into custody for disorderly conduct and he began resisting arrest. After a brief struggle, police said, he was subdued and placed in handcuffs.

He was transported to the police station, where he was processed and held for arraignment in City Court.
