Suspect faces new criminal charge

FORT PLAIN – A local businessman who has made headlines after being charged with a sex crime this year was charged again Thursday on River Street, this time by the village Police Department.

Dennis Todd, 62, was pulled over at 7:05 p.m., police said, and officers discovered he was hiding Michael Keith under a blanket on the back floor. Keith was wanted on a warrant, the Police Department said.

Todd was charged with obstructing governmental administration.

He already faced charges including several counts of criminal sexual act with a minor in connection with incidents involving a 13-year-old boy, police have said.

Todd also was charged with second-degree assault, police said, after he struck a man in the head with a baseball bat on Aug. 16.

On Aug. 31, TV?station WNYT aired video of Todd yelling at a cameraman and chasing him, eventually throwing a brick at him.

Todd is the chief executive officer of Old Fort Plaza and owner of Dennis’ Daylight Donuts, according to state Department of State records.
