JOHNSTOWN – Assemblyman Marc W. Butler, R-Newport, has announced that he and New York State Rifle and Pistol Association President and NRA board member Tom King will speak at two informational sessions about Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s new gun-control law.
Butler and King will speak at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Pine Tree Rifle Club, 419 Johnson Ave., Johnstown. The Herkimer County event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Salisbury Ridgerunners Club in Salisbury. These events are designed to inform the public about the new law in an effort to prevent accidental non-compliance. These events will be free and open to the public.
Butler also will seek input and support for a repeal of the new law, according to a news release, “as it infringes on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding New Yorkers and threatens the economic stability of the Mohawk Valley.”
King also will be the featured speaker at the Fulton County Republican Club’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Monday at the Johnstown Moose Club.
