Teen tried to punch officer, police say

GLOVERSVILLE – City police said an intoxicated teenager was arrested early today after trying to punch an officer.

John A. Richer, 17, of 330 W. Fulton St., was charged with second-degree harassment and resisting arrest.

Police said officers were dispatched to St. Thomas Place after getting a report an intoxicated male was yelling and screaming. Police said officers located the “highly intoxicated” Richer.

Richer tried to punch an officer, police said, and resisted arrest. Richer was subdued with pepper spray and then taken into custody, police said.

Police said Richer was transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital because he was intoxicated.
