AMSTERDAM – St. Mary’s Healthcare, the Montgomery County Public Health Department and community agencies from two counties are collaborating on a review of data gathered as part of a formal Community Health Needs Assessment conducted in the fall.
The group has reviewed the data and will work together to develop and implement a county-wide health improvement strategy to improve the health and quality of life for the residents of the area, a news release said.
Under review is data gathered in late 2012. More than 750 responses were collected from members of Montgomery and Fulton counties during phone interviews and facilitated focus groups.
“The purpose of the formal assessment was to identify major health issues, including gaps in services and other factors, which may be contributing factors to less than optimal health status for residents,” Vic Giulianelli, president and CEO of St. Mary’s, said in a news release. “The collaborative review will ensure the development of a plan to prioritize and meet those needs as expressed by our community members.”
