Broadalbin firehouse to host recruitment event

BROADALBIN?- The Broadalbin Kennyetto Fire Company was recently met, with President Robert Rosenzweig presiding and 34 members present.

First Assistant Chief Archie Rose reported 10 calls for the month of March: one outdoor rubbish fire, two motor vehicle accidents with injuries, one service call, one water problem, one unauthorized burning, two standby calls, one good intent call and one smoke detector activation.

Capt. Neil Bartholoma reported there will be a recruitment open house from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 and noon to 5 p.m. April 28. This is in conjunction with a statewide effort to recruit new volunteer firefighters. Visitors will be shown the fire trucks and equipment and learn about is involved with being a member.

Vincent Saj and Edwin Murey were voted in as probationary members.

The next regular meeting will be on May 13 at 7 p.m. at the firehouse.
