GLOVERSVILLE – The Common Council has called a special meeting for 6 p.m. Thursday to change the date of a future meeting and two public hearings that had been scheduled for Aug. 13, according to a news release.
The new meeting date will be Aug. 12. It will begin at 6 p.m., according to the news release.
The first hearing to take place that evening will be about the transit route changes related to the opening of the new Walmart Supercenter. The second will be about changes to the City Code pertaining to sewer law.
An audit by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency determined the city’s present definition of non-compliance in the present sewer-use law is less stringent than the federal standard required by the EPA, according to meeting documents.
