FONDA – The 28th Annual Miss Fonda Fair program will give young women of Fulton and Montgomery counties the opportunity to compete for the title, a news release said.
Miss Fonda Fair is open to girls and women ages 5 to 24 years old in the two counties. The winners will be making public appearances at the Fonda Fair each day during fair week, starting Aug. 27, and at fair-related activities throughout the year.
However, due to the high number of participants and resulting lengthy program in the past, this year there will be two pageants. The first pageant, for Miss and Junior Miss Fonda Fair, will take place at the Fonda-Fultonville High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 26.
Then, on Aug. 27, the Princess and Junior Princess pageant will be held in the Kane Entertainment Building on the fairgrounds at 4:30 p.m.
Last year’s winners will perform during their title’s pageant programs, the release said.
Contestants will be judged based on personal interviews, poise, personality and onstage appearance. All participants will be required to speak briefly at the microphone during the pageant.
Attire for all classes of stage competition is long or short dress of the contestant’s choice. No talent performance is required of contestants. The younger contestants in the Aug. 27 event are encouraged to attend the Aug. 26 pageant to observe the process.
Contestant applications will be accepted through Aug. 14.
