GLOVERSVILLE – A city man has been arrested on charges that he assaulted a woman and caused a traffic disturbance.
Kendall X. Hicks, 42, of 51 Division St., was charged by city police on an arrest warrant Monday.
Police said he was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment.
On March 18, while driving a government vehicle, Hicks used the vehicle to force people in a separate vehicle to stop while in traffic, according to authorities.
Once both vehicles were stopped, Hicks approached a female occupant of the second vehicle and as she exited the car. Hicks threw her to the ground and struck her repeatedly causing injury, police said.
Police said he then left the scene, and after an investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by Judge Traci DiMezza.
Capt. John Sira said Hicks is on active duty in the Army and is assigned to the Watervliet Arsenal. He said he was heading to Syracuse to attend training when the incident occurred.
Hicks turned himself in to police at the station on Monday.
He was processed by police and arraigned by Judge DiMezza and released.
