BROADALBIN – Mayor Eugene Christopher appointed Mario Cristaldi to serve as a village trustee and public health and safety commissioner to replace Theodore R. Bochenek, who is moving out of state. His resignation was effective Wednesday.
Cristaldi will serve in the position for the rest of the term’s year, which ends at noon April 1. Since the term for this position ends in April 2015, it will be up for election in March.
Cristaldi, of 5 W. Finch St. lives with is wife, Carla. He is a retired military technician with 31 years of service with the Army National Guard including 29 years of service with a combat tour in Iraq. He retired from the Army National Guard in July 2011 and currently serves as commander of the Robert Lee Walsh American Legion Post 337 in Broadalbin. He was born in Teaneck, N.J., and raised in Cambridge, Washington County. He lived in Hudson Falls, Washington County, before moving to Broadalbin in September 2007. He was a graduate of Stuttgart American High School and Vincennes University in Indiana with a general studies degree.
