FORT PLAIN – Walmart has awarded the Fort Plain Central School District two grants for the Life Skills classroom at the high school.
A grant of $2,500 will go toward the “Interviewing Skills: Preparing for Life” program, where students focus on developing career readiness and job skills. The district plans to use the money to buy iPads, a color printer, and accessories.
Meanwhile, a $1,000 grant will go toward the “Cooking for Life!” program, and the funding will be used to purchase kitchen supplies, equipment and reference books. The program aims to bring healthy cooking and meal-planning skills to students in the life skills classes, grades seven to 12, and the larger Fort Plain school community.
