NORTHAMPTON- State police said a Mayfield man was arrested Sunday after he threw a piece of firewood at the front windows on a house and smashed the glass on a patio table.
Charles Quackenbush, 44, of Mayfield, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child.
Troopers said they responded to Bunker?Hill Road. They interviewed the complainant, who said her boyfriend, Quackenbush, had been drinking all day, after which he became irate and began yelling, troopers said.
Troopers said Quackenbush grabbed a knife and left the residence, but returned a half-hour later. After knocking on the door and yelling, troopers said, Quackenbush grabbed a piece of firewood and began throwing it at the front house windows, causing no damage. Troopers said Quackenbush then smashed in the glass on the patio table on the front lawn.
Quackenbush was processed and arraigned in Town Court.
