Camporee set this weekend

JOHNSTOWN – The Twin Rivers Council of Boy Scouts of America will conduct its annual fall camporee, “The Sky is the Limit,” from Friday through Sunday at the Fulton County Airport off Route 67.

About 1,500 Boy Scouts, Explorers and Venturers, unit leaders, camporee staff and visitors are expected to attend the event, for which most activities will be Saturday.

The goal of this year’s program is to introduce youth to aviation as a possible profession or life hobby, a news release said. Activities will include A-frame airplane walk, climbing walls, bottle rockets, frisbee football, radio-controlled aircraft and an iron chef competition.

The council covers 13 counties, including Fulton, Montgomery and Hamilton counties.
