JOHNSTOWN – The Greater Johnstown School District Board of Education appointed two teachers during a special meeting Thursday at Johnstown High School.
The board approved the probationary, two-year appointment of Jennifer Casey as a music teacher at an annual salary of $46,762. The appointment is effective Nov. 4.
District Superintendent Robert DeLilli said the administration and district Music Department staff reviewed three finalists before recommending Casey. He said Casey worked most recently for the Northville Central School District.
The board also approved a term appointment of Robert Hayes Sr. as a part-time technology teacher, at a pro-rated salary of $44,867. The appointment is effective today and runs through June 26.
DeLilli said Hayes is recently retired as a technology teacher from the Greater Amsterdam School District. He said he will be working mostly at Knox Junior High School, but also one period at Johnstown High School.
