Museum employees receive travel grant

AMSTERDAM – The Board of Trustees of the Walter Elwood Museum is pleased to announce the receipt of a travel grant in the amount of $1,000 to allow museum staff members; Ann Peconie and Suzanna Hunter, to attend the 2016 Museum Association of New York annual conference – Core to Communities, located in Lake Placid and Tupper Lake, this spring.

The grant is provided by the New York State Council on the Arts, a state agency, and administered by the Museum Association of New York.

The grant will allow the Walter Elwood Museum to continue meeting the goals of its strategic plan, adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2013, a news release said.

The travel grants are one of a series of grants offered to help museums to strengthen and develop their institutions and work with their communities. These grants, administered by MANY are designed to make it easy for organizations to access professional help and improve their institutions.
