GLOVERSVILLE – The Gloversville Enlarged School District will be holding a public forum on Monday to discuss possible school reconfiguration options.
Gloversville Superintendent of Schools Michael B. Vanyo announced in a news release on Feb. 12 that the district’s current building and grade configurations will remain in place for the 2016-17 school year to allow time to form a task force of teachers, administrators, parents and community members that will provide feedback and recommendations to the board of education.
The task force is expected to begin public meetings this winter to evaluate the reconfiguration options currently under review and to suggest possible new options. The board of education could make a final decision this fall, in time to implement any changes for the 2017-18 school year.
As a result of Monday’s public forum, the GESD Board of Education’s regular meeting has been postponed until 6:30 p.m., Feb. 29 in the board meeting room.
The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in the Gloversville Middle School cafeteria.
