Stewart’s donation to aid summit

JOHNSTOWN – The Amsterdam-Gloversville-Johnstown Branch of the American Association of University Women recently announced it has received a $1,000 donation from the Stewart’s Foundation for the Tech Savvy Summit for Girls.

The conference for middle school girls from the tri-counties will be held at Fulton-Montgomery Community College on May 24.

Hands-on workshops facilitated by FMCC, Siena College and SUNY Cobleskill faculty and staff will take place in the classrooms and labs at FM, the release said. Girls attending will be exposed to the college atmosphere and be introduced to role models and possible careers in the STEM areas.

Registration information will be sent to middle schools in Hamilton, Fulton and Montgomery Counties in April.
