MAYFIELD – A portion of the village is under a boil-water advisory today after the section lost water Thursday because of either a water main leak or a problem with village water pumps.
Mayor Jamie Ward said the boil-water advisory went into effect Thursday for at least 48 hours for about 150 homes and 15 businesses on North Main Street, Route 30, North School Street and Mountainview Avenue.
That area lost water around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, and the rest of the village reported low water pressure, Ward said.
The village restored the water pressure around noon and was trying to determine whether a water main was leaking or the water pumps weren’t working properly.
