JOHNSTOWN – The New York State Boater’s Safety Course offered by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on May 23 and 24 is full, according to a news release.
The sheriff’s office will offer a second course May 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. People can register by calling Investigator Keith Manners at 736-2119.
Students who attend the eight-hour course must be at least 10 years old and pass a final exam to obtain a certificate. The course is required for any boat operator born after May 1, 1996, or anyone who intends to operate a personal watercraft, regardless of age, a news release said.
The free course will be held at the Fulton County Emergency Operations Center.
