Fireside gathering set for Wednesday

BROADALBIN – The public is invited to attend a fireside gathering, hosted by the First Presbyterian Church, 54 W. Main St., at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the community garden located at the rear of the church parking lot. The service will be led by the Rev. Linda Martin.

“We invite all from the community to attend,” Martin said in a news release.

David Delaney, guest musician from the Fonda Reformed Church, will provide musical accompaniment, the release said.

Patrician Brooking, director of Haven of Hope, a transitional housing program for homeless women and children, located in Fonda, will also attend, the release said.This marks the third year of the outdoor service and the second year Broadalbin’s United Methodist and St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic churches will be participating.

Fireside gatherings will be held once a month through September as follows: July 13, at United Methodist; Aug. 10, at St. Joseph’s; and back to First Presbyterian Church on Sept. 14. All gatherings begin at 6:30 p.m., except for September which starts at 6 p.m.

People should bring their own lawn chairs and favorite roasting stick, a news release said. Marshmallows and everything else will be provided.

In case of rain, the service will be held inside the church.
