GLOVERSVILLE – The Gloversville Enlarged School District has scheduled another public forum to seek additional community feedback regarding the possible reconfiguration of school buildings and the district’s instructional delivery model.
District residents will gather for a community forum at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in the Gloversville Middle School auditorium. Anyone who would like to participate in the forum is asked to RSVP on the district website: www.gesdk12.org.
The forum will begin with a presentation by Superintendent of Schools Michael B. Vanyo regarding potential options for change based on feedback received at the district’s last forum, which was held June 1. A report of the small group discussions from that meeting is available on the district website, www.gesdk12.org. Assistant Superintendent of Schools Steven Schloicka also will give a presentation on transportation changes needed to accommodate possible changes.
Following the presentations, attendees will break up into small groups to discuss opportunities and challenges related to potential options. Board of education members and administrators will facilitate those discussions.
For more than a year, the GESD Board of Education has been discussing options to address the challenges of declining enrollment, rising operational costs and unpredictable revenue, the release said.
