Tree falls, causes power outage in Mayfield, Northville, parts of Hamilton County

MAYFIELD – A tree fell on a power line and caused an outage affecting about 7,000 customers in the Mayfield and Northville area and parts of Hamilton County, National Grid reported Friday night.

Ellen Cook, a spokeswoman for National Grid, said the outage occurred around 4 p.m. Power was expected to be restored late Friday night.

According to the National Grid online power outage map, as of 9 p.m., Fulton County had 2,403 outages, including 372 in the town of Mayfield, 670 in Northville and 1,325 in Northampton.

In Hamilton County, 3,229 customers lost power, including 722 in Wells and 637 in Arietta.
