According to a news release, Assemblyman Marc Butler is working with the Robert Lee Walsh American Legion Post No. 337 to provide Fulton County veterans with a picnic on Oct. 16. This event will be provided to any Fulton County veteran and one guest at no cost to them.
“Although we are expressing our community’s sincere appreciation to all veterans for their service, we are extending an overdue focus on both Vietnam War and Korean War veterans,” Butler said in the release. “Vietnam was the longest war in American history up until the 21st century. It was a war unlike others. In the United States, Vietnam became a polarizing issue. Our American troops fought honorably, but were often ill-treated upon their return.
Butler’s office is accepting donations in support of this event. For more information, call the Fulton County district office at 762-6486 or by email [email protected]
