FONDA – The following are voter registration deadlines:
No person shall be qualified to register to vote unless he or she is a citizen of the United States and is or will be 18-years of-age on the day of election and a resident of the county for a minimum of 30 days prior to the day of election.
Oct. 14 – The last day to register for the Nov. 8 general election.
Registration forms can be postmarked Oct. 14, dropped off in person at the Board of Elections office or filled out on the DMV website and submitted electronically, before midnight Oct. 14.
Voter registration applications are available through Board of Election web site at www.co.montgomery.ny.us, at the Town Clerk’s office, at a local post office or by contacting the Board of Election office.
- ?Oct. 19 is the last day a current, registered voter may change their address for the 2016 general election.
The absentee voting deadlines are the following:
- ?Application for absentee ballot voting – a qualified voter may vote as an absentee voter if he or she expects to be:
(a) Absent from the county of residence on election day during the hours the polls are open.
(b) Unable to appear personally at the polling place because of illness or physical disability or duties related to the primary care of one or more individuals who are ill or physically disabled, or because he or she will be or is a patient in a hospital.
-?Oct. 7 – Absentee ballots issued (mailed) to qualified voters.
-?Oct. 11 through Nov. 7, the Board of Elections office will be conducting in person absentee voting.
-?Oct. 26 – Office hours extended to 7 p.m.
-?Oct. 29 – Office hours 9 a.m. to noon.
-?Nov. 3rd – Office hours extended to 7 p.m.
-?Nov. 5 – Office hours 9 a.m. to noon.
-?Nov. 1 – Last day to postmark an absentee ballot application.
-?Nov. 7 – The last day to apply in person at the Board of Elections’ for an absentee ballot.
