Potluck supper planned for today

GLEN – The public is invited to a community fellowship potluck supper today at 6:30 p.m., Glen Reformed Church.

The featured speaker will be Mary Lou Ryan of Middleburg who will share her experiences as a year-round volunteer with Operation Christmas Child, the worldwide mission by Samaritan’s Purse, founded by Franklin Graham, according to a news release.

Ryan serves in the roles of church relations team member and relay center coordinator for the organization. She traveled to Zambia in 2013 along with 23 other volunteers from the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Together with Samaritan’s Purse staff and members of the Operation Christmas Child national leadership team, she participated in the distribution of 3,600 gift-filled shoeboxes at churches and a children’s hospital.

Glen Church is located on Route 161. Everyone is welcome. The common room is accessible by stairs or an electric lift chair.

Operation Christmas Child is supported by many congregations from Fulton and Montgomery counties. This is an opportunity to learn more about what happens to the shoeboxes when they leave this area. If able, participants are asked to bring a covered dish. Table service and beverage will be provided. For more information, please call 922-6624.
