Career exploration events planned

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Literacy Zone with host two free career exploration events that will focus on entry-level health care jobs available locally.

The events will both occur on Wednesday at the Gloversville Literacy Zone, 43-47 N. Main St., next door to the Fulton-Montgomery-Schoharie Workforce Solutions Center:

The daytime event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. Guest presenters will include Ramon Rodriguez from Home Helpers Direct Link, Karl Christensen representing the Health Profession Opportunity Grants through Schenectady Community Action Program, and a representative from the Fulton-Montgomery-Schoharie Workforce Solutions Center.

The evening event will be held from 5:30 to  7:30 p.m. Guest presenters will include Anne Boles and Kathleen Kilmartin from Community Health Center and Karl Christensen representing the Health Profession Opportunity Grants through Schenectady Community Action Program. Attendees are asked to arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 p.m. to sign in. The program will begin at 6 p.m.

The last hour of each session will allow job seekers to talk with presenters directly. Job seekers are encouraged to bring a resume and be ready for an informal interview.
