JOHNSTOWN — The Elizabeth Cady Stanton Women’s Consortium will present the Women’s Symposium: Women Breaking Boundaries from
8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday (March 18) at Hamilton-Fulton-Montgomery Board of Cooperative Educational Services, 2755 State Route 67, Johnstown.
The theme of this year’s event is Winning the Vote, New York Women Break Boundaries 1917-2017. The keynote speaker will be Susan Goodier, the author of “No Votes for Women: A history of the Anti-Suffrage Movement in New York State.”
There will be three sub-themes: Women’s Public Progress; Body, Mind and Soul; and The Power and Spirit of Women.
The student art contest entries from tri-county schools will be displayed and the winners will be announced at 2:45 p.m.
A registration fee of $40 for adults and $15 for students includes attendance at three workshops, breakfast and lunch. The ECS Women’s Symposium also offers shopping opportunities with vendors, raffles and a chance to view member organizations’ displays.
