Library fundraiser makes $14,500

JOHNSTOWN — The fifth annual Johnstown Classic on April 1— the Johnstown Public Library’s biggest fundraiser — grossed $14,500.

Library Director Erica Wing also reported to the Common Council Monday night at City Hall that more details about the event’s expenses and profits will be released later. The event featured mini-golf played inside the 38 S. Market St. library, and the raffling of themed baskets donated by the community. All money raised goes back into the library’s operating budget.

“It was a great, busy day,” Wing said. “The raffle was the most successful we’ve ever had. It’s definitely a team effort.”
