Catholic Daughters plan bus trip

CANAJOHARIE — The Court Catherine Esther 1264 Catholic Daughters of the Americas will sponsor a bus trip Oct. 3 to the Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon, Sullivan County, for their annual Oktoberfest luncheon show.

People will celebrate Octoberfest with beer in the forum while listening to German music by the Alex Meixner Band.

The luncheon menu will offer a choice of sauerbraten with potato pancakes, bratwurst with German potato salad or turkey with stuffing, all served with fruit cup, lentil soup, red cabbage and black forest cake, plus a complimentary glass of beer during the show, according to a news release.

The Brown Coach Tours will provide the bus for this trip and will pick up passengers at the Dutchtown Plaza near McDonald’s Restaurant, Palatine Bridge, at 7 a.m. and return around 8 p.m. The trip will include comfort stops to and from the resort. The cost of the trip, which includes the luncheon and show, is $80 per person and is open to the public, the news release stated.

The seating on the bus is limited, and reservations for the trip with menu choice and money must be in by Aug. 30, so those interested in taking the trip are urged to call as soon as possible. For reservations or additional information, call Marlene Nalli at (518) 993-2837 or Doris Dutcher at (518) 993-2612, the news release stated.
