Glow run set for Sept. 23 in city

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Recreation Commissioner Glow Run 5k is set for Sept. 23 at 6 p.m.

The race is set to start at Trail Station Park, go south along the Rail Trail to just before Harrison Street and then turn around and end back at the park.

According to the registration information, the route will include glow in the dark chalk and glow sticks.

Early packet pickup is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Trail Station Park Gazebo on Sept. 22. Day of registration will also be available.

No pets or strollers are allowed in this race. Public Parking for the event will be in the Elm Street parking lot.

Raffle items will be available, and each runner will receive 2 raffle tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased on site, $5 for 20 tickets.

Proceeds from the event will go to the city’s recreation commission.

Recreation Commission Director Logan Barclay said that the commission is trying to secure race t-shirts for those who register early and finisher medals for all who cross the finish line.
