AMSTERDAM — A Fort Johnson man was charged by state police for violating an order of protection and trying to hit his victim.
According to Trooper Mark Ceipel, Javier Miranda, 32, was charged on Monday for third-degree menacing, first-degree criminal contempt for violating an order of protection and second-degree harassment with physical contact.
Troopers responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident. When they arrived on the scene, the victim was outside the residence. When Miranda came out of the residence, troopers discovered he had outstanding warrants and had violated the order of protection.
Miranda was arraigned in Palatine Court and remanded Montgomery County jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
