FULTONVILLE — There will be a benefit for Suzie Baird Blackwood, who has been diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread to her brain, from 1 to 6 p.m. today at the Glen Volunteer Fire Department, 123 Auriesville Road.
Blackwood, who has worked as an aide in the Gloversville school system for many years, has started treatment and has had the brain tumor removed. The benefit is to help with medical costs and other bills while she is out of work.
The tickets, which are $15 per person or $20 per couple; $10 for children ages 6 to 18; and free for children ages 5 and under, will be available at the door.
There will be raffles, auctions, a bake sale and food. All Fired Up will provide entertainment throughout the day. The firehouse is handicapped accessible. For more information, call (518) 725-6123.
