Harassment at work seminar set

GLOVERSVILLE — A breakfast seminar on workplace harassment by Rose Miller of Pinnacle Human Resources of Albany will be presented at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce conference room, 2 N. Main St., sponsored by the chamber and Bouchey and Clarke Benefits Inc.

A light breakfast will be served.

According to a chamber release, any person in the workplace, regardless of gender or position within the organization, can commit or be the victim of harassment in the workplace. Education is key to understanding the definition of and preventing unlawful harassment, which fosters a positive work environment that is essential for high employee morale.  Besides learning the importance of preventing harassment in the workplace, participants will learn about policies and procedures for responding to and reporting harassment and their responsibilities under these policies.

The seminar is open to the public.  Cost will be $5 per person for chamber members and $10 per person for all others. RSVP is required for planning purposes by calling Terry Swierzowski at the chamber at (518) 725-0641 or emailing her at [email protected]
