Knox student chosen to perform with honor band

JOHNSTOWN — Knox Junior High School student and bassoon player Cecelia D’Amore was chosen to perform with the New York State Band Directors Association’s Middle School Honor Band on March 3, in Liverpool. Cecelia, along with 105 other students from across the state worked with guest conductor Milt Allen.

The band performed four pieces including the world premier of a commissioned work titled “Exhale” by Sean O’Loughlin. Selection for the ensemble included an application process and scores from the New York State School Music Association’s solo festival.
