JOHNSTOWN — The Universal Pre-kindergarten program in the Greater Johnstown School District is currently accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year. The residents of the school district have until May 31, to register their children to be eligible for the UPK lottery. The registrations after the May 31, date will continue to be accepted, however, student placement may be limited. All prekindergarten classes will be held at Pleasant Avenue School for the 2018-‘19 school year, according to a news release.
The UPK program is for children who will be age 4 on or before Dec. 1. The district’s pre-kindergarten program addresses instructional components, cognitive skills, social and emotional development and the physical skills of children. The program follows the Johnstown school district calendar, with morning and afternoon sessions, the news release stated.
