GLOVERSVILLE — The Fulton-Montgomery Chamber of Commerce will help to facilitate clean up efforts throughout the region by hosting a cleanup day from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, according to a news release.
The chamber is encouraging all businesses to clean up their sites and to come together with employees and volunteers to clean up roadways, parks and trails to ready the area for the thousands of visitors who will be coming to the region this summer, the news release stated.
If a group participates with the “adopt a highway” program or if there is a park that they take care of, the chamber would like them to join them on Saturday to clean these spaces, the news release stated.
If a group doesn’t have any particular site in mind but would like to get a group of volunteers together to help in the cleanup efforts, contact the Chamber and they will assign a workplace. This is an opportunity to encourage employees to step up their efforts in the clean-up of the business site or to encourage students to get involved in service to their community, the news release stated.
An individual or group can register with the chamber. The chamber will provide garbage bags, safety vests, garbage grabbers and a place to drop off the trash collected. Send a picture of one’s group and the chamber will promote it on their social media platforms and in their newsletter — and give one a shout out in the newsletter and Chamber Connections. Help the chamber clean up this region. The registrations or questions can be directed to the chamber, the news release stated.
