Chronic disease management class

GLOVERSVILLE — The HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, a program titled, “Chronic Disease Self-Management” will be from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday at the Senior Citizen Service Center of Gloversville and Fulton County, located at 53 Church St., Gloversville, according to a news release.

“This program is specifically designed for anyone with an ongoing health condition such as diabetes, heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, chronic pain, obesity, depression, anxiety — or for those who are caring for someone with an ongoing health issue,” stated Tammy Merendo, Littauer’s director of community education. “Participants will learn how to better manage their condition to improve their overall health and quality of life,” she added.

This free program is open to the general public. Gift card incentives are available for attendance. The classes will meet once each week for six weeks through May 24. The space is limited — to attend, call HealthLink Littauer at (518) 736-1120, the news release stated.
