JOHNSTOWN — The following for the HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, will all be held at the wellness center, 2 Colonial Court, according to a news release.
∫ From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, there will be four health screenings scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday (April 17) to include a cholesterol-high density lipoprotein-glucose blood test for $18 (fasting of at least three hours is suggested); a diabetes risk assessment, blood pressure reading, and body fat analysis-body mass index measurement at no charge.
Following the New York State Department of Health regulations, blood tests are performed by trained registered nurses.
This screening is open to the general public and no appointments are necessary, the news release stated.
∫ From 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, a new program titled, “Eat Right and Shop Light. Eat Smart New York!”
“Participants will learn how to shop in-season, increase the amount of fruits and vegetables they eat, money saving tips and more,” said Tamara Glaser, community health educator of Cornell Cooperative Extension in a news release.
This free program is open to the general public, the news release stated.
