The Edinburg Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Edinburg Community Center, Military Road. Denise Ferguson, Edinburg Town Clerk, will discuss “The Duties of the Town Clerk.” Ferguson has lived in Edinburg most of her life, according to a news release.
The society has the digital video disc of John Bennis old photographs of Edinburg titled, “Saving the Dream,” narrated by Ferguson for $15. The DVD, “Harnessing Nature: Building the Great Sacandaga” is also available for $20. Both DVDs are available from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays in the historian’s office at Edinburg Town Hall or arrangements can be made to mail either DVD for a $5 postage and handling fee, the news release stated.
The memberships should be renewed to avoid missing what the society is planning this year. The dues are $5 for an individual; $10 for a family or organization. Send checks or attend this meeting, the news release stated.
