ST. JOHNSVILLE — The Palatine Settlement Society will hold its 22nd annual Rhubarb Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, at the 1747 Nellis Tavern historic site, 7355 Route 5.
A pie-baking contest will be held at noon with guest judges. Contestants should bring a rhubarb or rhubarb combination pie by 11:30.
Lunch and rhubarb goodies will be available, along with a raffle and free tours.
A free concert for all ages will be presented by the Sun Mountain Fiddler, Dick Solberg, from 1 to 3.
The even benefits the continuing restoration of 1747 Nellis Tavern. Currently the restoration involves the early 1800’s stenciling on the second-floor addition and the District 8 school house on the New Turnpike.
