MAYFIELD — The Mayfield Community Choir will begin rehearsals in celebration of its 20th year of summer performances. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church, 22 N. Main St., on the following: Tuesday, July 17, 24; Aug. 2, and 7. The first performance is planned for 7 p.m. Aug. 9, at the church.
The second performance will take place on Aug. 12, at a location to be announced, the news release stated.
This group, under the direction of Luke Horst, Mayfield Central School music teacher, is made up of singers from around the area who simply like to sing with a larger group. They will perform a wide variety of music and will include some of the songs that they have sung in the past. While rehearsals take place at the church, the group is not primarily a church choir. Newcomers are always welcome, the news release stated.
Mayfield Presbyterian Church is handicap accessible and air conditioned. All are welcome to attend. More information is available by calling (518) 661-6566, the news release stated.
