Erie Canal talk set for Wednesday

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville Public Library, 34 W. Fulton St., will have David Brooks, education director of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site, who will conduct a presentation titled “History and Hearsay: A Virtual Tour.” Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

The program will show images of the historic Erie Canal site and contain tales from along the canal and the hamlet of Fort Hunter, according to a news release.

During the presentation, learn bits of history as well as some mysteries from along the artificial river. One of the stories will be untrue. Those attending can test their intuition, detective skills, and see if they can spot the fib. A discussion will occur at the end of the program and the lie will be revealed.
