JOHNSTOWN — The following upcoming events are for the Shirley J. Luck Senior Center, 109 E. Main St.
The center members and staff were recently part of a falls prevention video, sponsored by Nathan Littauer Hospital’s Lifeline Program. A fall can lead to serious injuries and complications in a person’s life and the video demonstrates the things a person can do to help prevent a fall. The video can be seen on both the center and NLH Facebook pages and on local TV Channel 18.

Nov. 20:
∫ From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. free blood pressure clinic.
∫ At 1 p.m. bingo with prizes and refreshments.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 21, and 27, Blue Shield.
Nov. 29: Decorate the center for the holidays at noon after a lunch provided by the center to thank those helping to decorate. Bring a tree ornament and get in the holiday spirit.
From 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 30, Mohawk Valley Physicians.
Planned 2019 trips — everyone is welcome whether a member or not. For more information on any of the trips, call or stop at the center. Reserve a spot soon.
∫ March 12-13: Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casino.
∫ May 5: Phantom of the Opera at Proctors.
∫ June 9 to 13: Wildwood, N.J. including a day at Resorts Casino, Atlantic City and other activities
∫ Sept. 4 to 10: Mount Rushmore, S.D. a brochure is available with the details of all places those attending will visit.
The membership for 2019 is underway. Anyone can become a member for $15 regardless of where one lives. The Eavesdropper keeps members informed each month of all center classes and activities as well as the 50 Plus Club meetings and events.
