Several area Veterans Day meals and observances have been scheduled today.
Broadalbin American Legion Post 337, 19 Main St, will have free music and food from 1 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.
If anyone wants to pick up food and bring it to a homebound veteran, they will not be turned away.
The city of Johnstown will hold a veterans service from 11:11 a.m. to noon at the Sir William Johnson Park.
A Veterans Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be held at the Concordia Club, 138 Concordia Club Road, Gloversville.
The brunch is free for veterans and $8 for all others. The brunch will consist of eggs, sausage, pancakes, home fries, biscuits with sausage gravy, juice, coffee.
The event is open to the public. Reservations — the signup sheet is on the board.
Operation Adopt A Soldier will hold an Honoring Our Veterans buffet brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Fortunes Restaurant on the grounds of Saratoga Casino Hotel, Saratoga Springs.
It will include chef’s entree specials, various fresh bread, a carving station, omelets made to order, sausage and bacon, breakfast potatoes, french toast, lunch entrees, desserts, coffee, tea, and soft drinks.
The cost will $30 at the door for adults, $15 at the door for children, and free for children 3 and under.
A 50-50 raffle, gift basket raffles, and auctions will be held.
