GLOVERSVILLE — In honor of Women’s History Month, the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Women’s Consortium will be sponsoring a play at 1 p.m. March 30 in the Carnegie meeting room at the Gloversville Public Library, 58 E. Fulton St. Donations will be accepted, according to a news release.
The play will portray how local women suffragists and anti-suffragists participated in the long, nationwide struggle for women’s right to vote and will includes suffrage songs.
The program was organized by the Chapman Historical Museum, Glens Falls, Warren County; Kim Harvish, museum educator, will serve as moderator.
Sandi Rhodes portrays a Glens Falls suffragist, Eva Kingl; Patricia Dolton, who has knowledge in suffrage music, will lead the songs; Frieda Toth will portray Lucy Price, an anti-suffragist from Ohio, who spoke in Glens Falls.
There will be an opportunity for discussion following the presentation. Refreshments will be available.
