JOHNSTOWN— HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, will hold a program on “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia” on Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. at its wellness center, 2 Colonial Court.
“This session is for those facing a diagnosis or anyone wanting to learn more,” said Meagan DeMento, program manager for the Alzheimer’s Association of Northeastern New York. “We’ll discuss the brain, risk factors, three general stages, treatments available, research and resources.”
After the presentation, the Alzheimer’s Caregiver Group will meet at 4 p.m. The monthly discussion group is for family members or friends who care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
