AMSTERDAM — Eight gardens on the Amsterdam Area Garden Tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday arranged by the Friends of Amsterdam Free Library.
The tour will feature rock gardens, water gardens, raised gardens, exotic gardens and organic gardens—rain or shine.
This year participants may take tours by shuttle bus or enjoy the gardens at their own pace and time schedule on self-guided tours.
People preferring to tour by bus should sign up for a bus when they buy their tickets as seating is limited. Tickets with a map and short description of each garden are $10 per person or $15 per car. They can be purchased at the library during its hours—generally 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. except Thursday when the library is open until 8 p.m.
Although the library is closed on weekends during July and August, tickets will also be sold from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday in the parking lot. Shuttle buses are scheduled to leave at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 pm from the parking lot next to the library.
Proceeds from the tour will benefit the summer reading program at the library.
