Nirvana fitness class slated for Thursdays

GLOVERSVILLE — Heather Mattioni will teach Nirvana, a breathing fitness class to ease occasional anxiety, stress and discomfort from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Aug, 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, in the cafe at the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts, 2736 Route 30.

According to a news release, Nirvana is the perfect combination of breathing, movement and music to create a natural state of “flow.” The movements and breathing techniques to be learned, balances and supports well-being, using theta-wave technology and simple movements that are both elegant and effective. Participants will feel an overall sense of “nirvana” and fall deeper into the present moment.

The cost will be $15 per class, minus 20 percent for center members.
